World Champion Jodie Swallow Rides Blue

Jodie Swallow claimed the International Triathlon Union (ITU) long course World Championships title in Perth in a devastating swim, cycle and run clocking the fastest times in all three disciplines.

Jodie led the field from the very outset, coming out of the water first off the back of a 41 min 47 sec 3km swim, and eventually won by more than 11 minutes ahead of second placed Rebakah Keat.

Jodie completed the 80km cycle leg on her new Blue Triad SL in a little over two hours. Jodie commented “Everything came together really well for me, so I couldn’t be happier, Becoming the world champion is an amazing feeling and has made all the hard work worth it. I felt great coming out the swim and pushed the start of the bike extra hard. My triad SL responded and stepped up HER game!! She looked great but performed even better and we are heading to Clearwater now with complete faith in each others abilities!!'”

Rebakah Keat, one of the pre-race favorites, admitted Swallow was simply uncatchable in the race. “I tried to mount a challenge but Jodie was on another planet, so full credit to her, she was outstanding,”

Jodie now travels to Florida for the IM 70.3 World Championships in November in great form.
