Rachel Joyce Finishes 6th at Kona

Rachel Joyce went into the Ford Ironman World Championships as something of an unknown quantity. However after finishing on the podium at both Ironman South Africa (3rd) and Ironman Lanzarote this year (both hot, tough races) Rachel was in great form. This showed as Rachel put in a truly world class performance to finish 6th.

Rachel exited the swim in 4th place in just over 53 minutes before putting in a sterling performance on the bike to go into T2 in 4th place. Rachel capped it off with a gritty run to claim 6th place overall beating many in a truly world class field.

In Kona Rachel was wearing our new heat endurance kit with specifically designed ice pockets to keep cool when racing in the hotter climates (this range of kit will be released in time for the 2010 season).

Congratulations to Rachel on yet another outstanding performance.
